How new technology affects the media content?

New technology has provided a platform with lots of freedom to media users, which also allows users to post anything they want at anywhere they want with internet access. The media content is definitely faster and more updated compared to the old technology. The new technology has changed the way of how people gather the latest information.

For example, Twitter encouraged Jakarta users to tweet about its flooding situation to increase public safety.

Twitter has successfully drives positive social change and empowers people to play an active role in improving their response times to increase public safety during emergencies. Many users had posted photos up on Twitter to keep each other updated about the flood situation.

Besides, as the new technology provides freedom for users to post things they want, some false and misleading information exist causing people to think that media content should not be trusted easily. For example, the advertisements of famous fast food restaurants like Mcdonald's and Burger King have created misleading media content to attract consumers to buy their products.
